Kenichi Ueda is a Senior Economist in the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund. His research focus is interlinkage between financial systems and the macroeconomy. His publications have appeared in Review of Economic Studies, International Economic Review, and Journal of Development Economics, among others. He obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago before joining the Fund in 2000. Prior to his Ph.D. study, he worked for the Ministry of Finance, Japan. He completed his B.A. in economics at the University of Tokyo.
He was the CFSP Fellow for 2011.
