Gabriel de Abreu Madeira
Gabriel de Abreu Madeira received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2007. He is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Economics at University of São Paulo and a Research Fellow at the Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas (FIPE). His research interests focuses on optimal financial contracts, the relationship between financial intermediation and development, the economics of organizations and applied microeconomics. Recently, he has been studying several aspects of financial deepening in Brazil, including geographic patterns and impacts on risk coping and occupational choice. He has also been acting as a consultant for Microfinance programs from the Brazilian Federal Government and the Government of the State of São Paulo, Brazil.
