Enrique Seira

Enrique Seira is an economist who specializes in development economics and industrial organization. He is interested in macroeconomic theory, financial development, and the role of government in the economy. Seira also has an interest in theory-based empirical research, which he combines with policymaking. His current areas of interest involve financial development and the government's role in credit markets, the regulatory burden on small firms and informality, program evaluation, and consumer behavioral biases and credit markets.

Seira has held advisory positions to the Secretary of the Treasury in Mexico as well as the Secretary of Economics.  Currently, he holds a teaching position at the Instituto Technológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).

Seira received a bachelors of economics from ITAM in 2001 and a Ph. D. in economics from Stanford University in 2007.
